Family is at the centre of everything we do at Mamas & Papas, so it’s very exciting for us to share with you guest posts from our friends about what family means to them. Here ex England rugby player Matt Dawson tells us what family means to him
There is simply no way I would be sat in the house I do, be married to the woman I am or have the friends I have if it wasn’t for the amazing parents I have. Parenting is about leading by example, consistency, communication, commitment and an unfaltering love you cannot put in to words. My mum and dad travelled the globe to watch and worry whilst I played rugby and yet still had the strength to warn me of the pitfalls of life when it could have been easy to overlook them. Whilst some friends/ acquaintances came and went your parents never stop watching over you. To have the chance to do that myself fills me with a nervous excitement because I can’t believe I’ll be as perfect as my folks are. I’ll give it a blooming good go though!
